Financial Stress Management

Our Story in Financial Wellbeing

Six years of helping Australians move from financial anxiety to financial confidence, one practical step at a time.

The Beginning: Born from Personal Experience

threnavoliquos started when our founder, Mackenzie Thornfield, realized that traditional financial advice wasn't addressing the emotional side of money stress. After working with over 200 clients in Brisbane's financial district, she noticed a pattern – people knew what they should do with money, but anxiety kept them stuck.

What began as informal workshops in a Queen Street community center grew into something bigger when participants started sharing their breakthroughs with friends and family.

"I remember our first workshop had 12 people. Half of them were there because their friend dragged them along. But something clicked when we talked about money fears instead of just budgets." - Mackenzie

Growing Beyond Brisbane: Digital Expansion

The pandemic changed everything for us, but in unexpected ways. When we couldn't meet in person, we discovered that financial stress was universal – from Darwin to Hobart, people were struggling with the same money anxieties we'd been addressing in Brisbane.

By 2022, we'd helped over 1,800 Australians develop practical skills for managing financial stress. Our online community became a safe space where people could talk honestly about money without judgment.

Key milestone: Launched our stress-tracking tools that helped people identify their specific money triggers, leading to more personalized support approaches.

Today: A Comprehensive Support Network

Six years in, we've learned that financial wellbeing isn't about perfect budgets or investment strategies – it's about building confidence to make decisions that align with your values and circumstances.

Our team now includes financial counselors, therapists specializing in money anxiety, and peer support facilitators. We've developed resources that address everything from everyday spending stress to major life transitions involving money.

Current impact: Supporting over 4,500 active community members across Australia, with specialized programs for different life stages and circumstances.

Looking Ahead: Building Financial Resilience

Our vision for the next few years focuses on prevention rather than crisis intervention. We're developing early-support programs for young adults, workplace wellbeing partnerships, and community-based initiatives that normalize conversations about financial stress.

Because when financial anxiety doesn't have to be a secret struggle anymore, we all benefit from healthier money relationships in our communities.
